WhatsApp To Reach Your Desktop Soon
BENGALURU: The popular messaging service, Whatsapp will soon be available on the desktop as well which makes it possible to use the service on the computers too. The speculation about the news started just after the co-founder of rival messaging app Telegram, Pavel Durov, told TechCrunch that he thought WhatsApp was working on a web version, reports Times Of India.
Apparently, there is no official confirmation from Whatsapp about the Web version of the messaging service. But according to Business today, the latest WhatsApp update has mentioned about 'WhatsApp Web' in its code and it has references to logging in and out of computers with tracking user statuses online. It also reveals that the code has no mention of Facebook which indicates that users will not need to log into Whatsapp with their Facebook accounts.
However, this service is not new as the other messaging services like Viber, Wechat, Telegram enables you to use the services on the phone and the PC leaving Whatsapp the only one without the feature now. Moreover, with a large user base of over 600 million active users, if WhatsApp gets the PC based messaging in the future, it will only help it increase its user base.
