Meta is bringing its AI-powered Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 smart glasses to India on November 21, marking a major step in its wearable tech expansion. The glasses will be available on Amazon, Flipkart, and Reliancedigital.in, combining the timeless Ray-Ban design with advanced AI functionality. Starting November 6, customers can register for 'Notify Me' alerts to get early access.
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses merge fashion and technology, offering multiple frame and lens options, including prescription, sun, polarized, and Transitions variants. Each pair includes a charging case and a LED capture indicator for privacy when the camera is active.
Powered by Meta AI, the glasses can respond to voice commands through the phrase 'Hey Meta', enabling users to ask questions, get information, or manage features hands-free. The device is designed to help users stay connected and present while simplifying daily interactions.

For Indian consumers, Meta has added localized features, such as Hindi language support, celebrity voice integration featuring Deepika Padukone, and a festive 'Restyle' mode for themed photo edits. Soon, the glasses will also support UPI Lite payments, letting users make transactions under Rs 1,000 by simply looking at a QR code and saying, 'Hey Meta, scan and pay'.
Sandhya Devanathan, VP of Meta India & Southeast Asia, said the launch reflects Meta’s vision of personal, seamless, and empowering computing experiences, positioning India at the center of its wearable tech strategy.
