HFCL Secures Deal with General Atomics ASI for Drone Sub-Systems
Home-grown telecom company HFCL has been chosen by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Incorporated (GA-ASI) to develop and supply essential sub-systems for its advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), the company announced.
HFCL is set to create drone detection radar, a critical component for modern drone detection systems. This partnership signifies a significant achievement for HFCL, positioning it as a key player in contributing to some of the world’s most advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The company’s subsidiary, Raddef, specializes in developing portable and deployable advanced radar and radio frequency solutions suitable for various terrains. 
HFCL Managing Director Mahendra Nahata expressed pride in the selection, stating, “Our partnership with General Atomics reflects our strong commitment to the Make in India initiative. These versatile drones represent our dedication to providing the defense forces with cutting-edge technology”.
In addition to its telecom equipment, HFCL is actively involved in research and development of radar technologies. This includes ground surveillance radars, weather radars, threat emulators, LTE-based passive radars, and various other specialized radar systems such as those for coastal surveillance and avalanche detection.
This collaboration enhances HFCL’s role in the defense sector, leveraging advanced technology to support national security initiatives.
