Google Launches Gemini Enterprise to Compete in Workplace AI
  • Google unveils Gemini Enterprise, a standalone AI platform for businesses
  • Aims to simplify building custom workplace assistants with secure integrations
  • Targets enterprise users with pricing from $21/month and a 30 day free trial

Google has launched Gemini Enterprise, a new AI powered platform designed specifically for businesses. Offered through Google Cloud, the tool helps companies build, deploy, and manage custom workplace AI assistants securely, intensifying Google's competition with OpenAI and Anthropic in the enterprise AI space.

The platform is meant to be the 'front door for AI in the workplace', allowing integration with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SAP, and more. It also comes bundled with Google’s advanced AI tools such as Code Assist and Deep Research.

Gemini Enterprise includes a suite of features like pre-built Google agents for insights and automation, a no-code workflow builder, and a governance dashboard for monitoring and compliance. Early adopters of the platform include companies like Figma, Klarna, Macquarie Bank, Gordon Food Service, and Virgin Voyages, with some already deploying over 50 specialized AI agents.

Unlike earlier Gemini tools folded into Workspace plans, Gemini Enterprise is a standalone product. It’s available under two pricing tiers, starting at $30 per user/month for the standard and plus versions, and $21 per user/month for the business plan aimed at startups and smaller teams. A 30 day free trial is also offered.

This move signals Google's strong intent to claim a larger share of the enterprise AI market, where OpenAI boasts 5 million ChatGPT Enterprise users and Anthropic has partnered with Deloitte’s 500,000 employees.
