Google Launches AI App Builder Opal in India with Key Upgrades

- Google’s no-code app builder Opal now available in India and 14 more countries
- Users can build web apps using simple text prompts
- New updates boost performance, debugging, and parallel workflows
Google has launched its AI powered app builder, Opal, in 15 new countries, including India making it easier for non-coders to build apps using just text prompts. Initially launched in the U.S., Opal is designed to help anyone create functional web apps without needing programming skills. With this expansion, Google is tapping into growing global demand for simple, accessible development tools.
Opal uses Google’s AI models to turn everyday language into working apps. Users describe what they want, and Opal creates a visual workflow that can be edited, customized, and published directly to the web. This allows creators to skip coding and focus on the app’s purpose and functionality.
As part of the global rollout, Google has also improved Opal’s speed and performance. Creating new projects is now significantly faster, and the platform supports parallel processing, making complex, multi-step apps easier to build. Google has also enhanced Opal’s no-code debugging feature. Errors are now shown exactly where they occur, reducing confusion and saving time.

Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs, said the expansion was driven by the creativity of early U.S. users. “We saw people building tools far beyond what we expected. That showed us the need to make Opal available to more creators around the world”.
The tool is now live in countries like India, Japan, Brazil, Canada, and others. Anyone with a Google account in a supported region can try Opal.
