Google Brings Nano Banana AI Tools to Photos App for Indian Users
  • Google rolls out Nano Banana AI features in Photos for Android users in India and the U.S.
  • New tools include 'Help me edit', creative templates, and improved search.
  • AI-powered updates make photo editing and discovery faster and more intuitive.

Google has launched its latest Nano Banana AI tools in the Google Photos app, bringing advanced editing and creative features to users in India and the United States. The update introduces AI-driven photo editing, visual search, and creative templates, marking one of the biggest upgrades to Google Photos yet.

With the new 'Help me edit' option, users can now make photo changes simply by typing or speaking commands. The AI can recognize faces through facial grouping technology, allowing for precise edits like removing sunglasses, brightening smiles, or opening eyes. Google says the Nano Banana model ensures natural, realistic results using advanced facial recognition.

The update also adds AI-generated creative templates that let users transform photos into styles such as Renaissance portraits, comic strips, or vintage film posters. These features will be available on Android devices in India and the U.S. next week under the ‘Create’ tab.

Additionally, Google Photos gets a new 'Ask' button, enabling users to explore related events, request information about photos, or make quick edits through simple conversational prompts.

For Indian users, the rollout expands AI-powered search, now active in over 100 countries and supporting 17 new languages, including Hindi, Bengali, and Arabic. Users can now search their memories using natural language queries like “show me my Goa beach trip in 2023.”

The introduction of Nano Banana marks Google’s next big step in blending generative AI with everyday creativity and accessibility across its ecosystem.
