LG with 2,122 has slightly higher number of patents and stands at the 9th spot. The company is doing well with their tech products in the market and has attracted many other companies to merge their patents with them. Recently, LG struck a deal with Google giving them access to one another’s patents for the next decade.

Google for the first time has managed to hold itself to the top 10 list this year with 2,566 patents in hand. It seems like their schemes are intent on staying in the top 10, since they recently bagged patents for a “fragrance emission device,” as well as for self-driven car technology.
