BENGALURU: The world was beaming over the growth of Smartphone market when in the past year in December, it saw a temporary deviation from the general trend. The sales of Smartphone went down and manufacturers were trying hard to figure out what went wrong.
Almost all the people around are owning a Smartphone and with new launches and other new features being introduced, the people are expecting a lot much better production from SmartPhone manufacturers.
The recent growth in SmartPhone sales was looking positive as various online retailers had offered massive sale discounts during the festive seasons.
The overall mobile phone market, which includes feature phones and Smartphone stood at 64.3 million units in the December quarter, compared with 72.5 million units in the September quarter. It reflected a sequential decline of 11 percent and an annual decline of 5 percent, reports Live Mint.
Smartphone numbers in India may touch 500 million by 2017-18 from sales of about 190 million by the end of 31 December, according to research firm Convergence Catalyst. This growth is driven by the fact that the prices of the SmartPhone is falling and will keep this falling trend up in the future as well.
This will in turn motivate people to buy more handsets in the near future and the most defining fact is that mobile vendors in India and all over are only selling off SmartPhone and other handsets that are gradually going extinct.
With Smartphone getting technologically more powerful and loaded with new features, it acts as a driving force towards a revolution in the mobile market. With a SmartPhone in hand, people can not only make calls but play games, communicate digitally better, and even utilize camera features.
After foraying into many platforms, it is being set that the fall in the sales of SmartPhones is just temporary and SmartPhone lovers will see a lot more of them, making its way in the future. The mobile industry and will be loaded with new, better and revolutionary features to drive in more consumers to buy SmartPhone.
