concerned over increasing incidents of crime against women, a group of five IIT- Delhi students have developed a jewellery device called 'Safer' which could be used to trigger alarm and send signals to pre-identified phone numbers, police as well as nearby users in case of emergency. ‘Safer' is a pendant that has the safety mechanism below it. The device will be linked to wearer's mobile using an application. In case of emergency, a double click on the device will send an alert to the registered numbers of the user's guardians or friends, to the nearest PCR and the people in the vicinity using the same application.

3D display and user interface

IIT-Kanpur students Lavisha Aggarwal, Mayank Pathak and Pranav Kumar created a project that creates a 3D image on a computer or mobile screen with the help of a web camera or a front camera. The aim is to display an object as if it were a real 3D entity (on screen), showing its perspective view based on the viewer’s face’s orientation with respect to the camera, and taking a minimal number of views of the object beforehand. So in case you want to see a three-dimensional (3D) model of a product that you wanted to buy online, this project makes it possible.
