Matsya
Matsya is the result of hard work put in by a group of 30 students from IIT-Bombay, along with a few faculty members. They have designed an automated underwater vehicle (AUV), similar to the one being deployed by the U.S. in search operations for the missing Malaysian Airline MH 370. The vehicle which can record movements, pick up sound signals underwater and has a battery life of 100 minutes. The venture costs around 22 lakh and was partially funded by the institute.
Sixthsense, Mouseless, Sparsh
The computer scientist and inventor Pranav Mistry is the Vice President of research at Samsung and head of think thank team. The IIT Mumbai student had shown his capabilities as a designer and inventor with his creations including Mouseless an invisible computer mouse, SPARSH which is an innovative way to copy and paste between digital devices. Another invention was of Blinkbot, a gaze and blink controlled robot, a 3D pen. His best known invention is of Quickies, intelligent sticky notes and known work on Sixthsense.
