Technologies That Could Destroy Human Life
Cyber Attacks: This is not a new phenomenon or a future threat to human life because cyber crime is an issue witnessed most often.
Right now it is at a minimal rate where the target is on documents and information, which in itself is dangerous enough.
The use of Stuxnet, a malware, that targeted specific machineries in Iran was just a small example of the capabilities of cyber attack when it comes to destroying or acquire info from SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
It is said that if the third world war is to happen then it will be more of a cyber related war than a physical deployment of men on men.
Drones: The use of drones is escalating among the NATO countries to spy or attack foes. The recent Gaza and Israeli war that took place this year, witness the use of drones by Israel to find the hideouts of Hamas. This is already ruling the weaponry of many countries and could very well be used to destroy human life if it falls in the wrong hands.
Drones are used for scouting, bombing, delivering and also human patrolling. Law enforcements have drones that are fitted with shot guns, grenade launchers and tasers to control the crowds who protest.
Robotic Doctors: The use of robotics in the health industry is very high with machines having assisted human doctors in many complicated surgeries. The use of Da Vinci machines for surgery has proved to be very successful with minimal margin of error.
