SAP Labs India Launches Emerging Technologies Center of Excellence
SAP Labs India has unveiled a new center of excellence in Hyderabad as part of its Code Unnati initiative, aimed at fostering skill development and enhancing employability among the youth. Developed in partnership with the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and Edunet Foundation, this center focuses on emerging technologies across 17 locations, providing industry-relevant training and opportunities.
Sindhu Gangadharan, SVP & MD of SAP Labs India, emphasized the importance of collaboration between stakeholders, including government, corporates, academia, and civil society, in nurturing innovation and delivering comprehensive education. She highlighted the role of dedicated faculty in equipping young people with the skills and adaptability required to succeed in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
The Code Unnati program, initiated by SAP, specifically targets students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds enrolled in tier 2 and tier 3 colleges. The program offers over 300 hours of training, establishing SAP centers of excellence within colleges to facilitate experiential learning of advanced technologies.
Shrikant Sinha, CEO of TASK, emphasized the significance of maintaining a strong foundation in core principles alongside adapting to new trends and technologies. He stressed that empowering students with a robust understanding of fundamentals enables them to effectively engage with technological advancements and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future.
The establishment of the center of excellence underscores SAP's commitment to promoting skill development and preparing the youth for the demands of the digital economy. Through collaborative efforts and targeted initiatives like Code Unnati, SAP Labs India seeks to bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring a pipeline of skilled professionals ready to drive innovation and growth.
