Nokia developed its own Symbian operating system, which powered a wide variety of Nokia’s mobile phones. Other Companies used this operating system as well, including Sony Ericson, Samsung and Motorola. However, during this period, Apple and Google’s Android gained market share and Nokia faced dwindling sales. The company went into loss but is still operating in the market.
