Virtual Reality

The most ubiquitous theme at MWC this year was Virtual Reality (VR) and it turned lot of heads and captured imagination with the interesting mix of devices from different companies. Samsung’s new flagship product Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were designed to be compatible with their Gear VR headset. HTC Vibe and Oculus Rift definitely stirred waves for Virtual reality devices, taking into consideration that mobile devices have been the preference for integrating VR so far. Nokia’s professional 360-degree camera like the Ozo is something that will intrigue anyone. HTC showcased their very own Vibe Pre VR headset, which is scheduled to be launched in April at a price of $799. Initiatives are being taken to realize the full potential of VR, for say, like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 has been built for smartphones to use VR technology. But the highlight here was Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg making a surprise appearance to announce the creation of a team to explore the avenues of social interaction in virtual reality.
