iOS 8

The customary announcement at WWDC on June 2nd 2014 of the OS and the expected release were the same at the fall of 2014. On September 9th 2014 at an Apple event the flagships iPhone6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released along with iOS 8. The current version running is iOS 8.3 and 8.4 is in beta stage.

This year’s WWDC saw the announcement of iOS 9, the latest which will be the next in line after a series of accomplishments. Support for device that were before iPhone 4S were dropped and the list of supported devices is as follows: iPhone 4S onwards, iPod Touch (5th generation), the iPad 2 onwards, and the iPad Mini (1st generation) onwards. The iOS 9 is still in beta version and will provide limited support for iPad 2, iPhone 4S, iPad Mini (1st gen), and the iPod Touch (5th gen).
