BENGALURU: With the launch of Google’s new operating system, Android M this year, the company has added new visual graphics to it that will appeal to the masses. This includes a fingerprint scanner, new permission system and improved battery life.  It also comes with a new backup system for apps and data including USB Type-C.

Here are some features you can look forward to in Android M, reports arstechnica.

Bluetooth stylus support and version 4.2

Android M will now support Bluetooth Styluses. This will be handy for note taking and drawing on Android tablets.

In addition to Bluetooth 4.1, the 4.2 version comes with few other features like faster speed for transferring data.

4 K Display Modes

Apps in Android M can request for 4K resolution, i.e smartphones using Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. This must prove to be useful for Android TV boxes which support 4K content, which in the long run can become more mainstream.

5GHz portable Wi-Fi hotspot

When you upgrade your Wi-Fi hotspot in Android M, the system will ask you whether you want to use the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band in addition to the name, type of encryption, and passkey you want to use. However, this won’t be supported on all devices.

The way SD card support should be

Android is generally prone towards depending on external storage devices like microSD cards. Jeff Shaarkey, Sotware Engineer at Google says, “If Google uses storage devices in the long-run, Android M can adopt that storage device, encrypt it (authorized parties can read it) and use it the same way Android treats it internal storage currently”. This means that, you can move any pre-installed app or its data that already exist in phone memory.

Considering the fact of managing storage on the Moto E, which included 4GB internal storage, Android phones can pick up 16GB or 32GB of external storage and treat is as inbuilt memory. More interestingly, this means that Android M can borrow external memory and treat it as inbuilt.
