Complain About Illegal Parking Through Facebook, Whatsapp: Police
NEW DELHI: The Delhi traffic police have asked people to complain through its Face book page, traffic helpline number 1095 and Delhi Police's anti-corruption WhatsApp helpline 9910641064 to end illegal parking.
Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander has urged people to help traffic police curb the illegal parking menace in the city.
"If anybody is charging money for getting one's vehicle parked and not giving a receipt for that, they can tell us about such activities through our traffic police's Facebook page and traffic helpline," he said.
Chander said people can also lodge their complaint through Delhi Police's anti-corruption helpline number by making a call or sending audio and video clips.
The official himself busted an illegal parking in Gandhi Nagar of east Delhi to take forward the new initiative against such parking and its mafia.
He said that despite the East Delhi Municipal Corporation's cancellation of parking facility in Gandhi Nagar, some parking mafia were charging parking fee from people without a receipt.
As many as 32 cars were challenged for unauthorized parking and a case was registered in this regard at the Gandhi Nagar police station.
"An order has also been issued to find connivance of any police official in running the illegal parking in the Gandhi Nagar area," the official added.
