BANGALORE: Multitudes of users across the globe have their computers with Windows OS running on them, since its first step in 1985 it has come a long way to be an integral part in tech world.
The original takedown step was in 1981 by Chase Bishop who designed the first model of Windows which was set to release in 1983 but saw light in 1985, November 20.
Released as Windows 1.0, this OS was the first one to hit stores, and also the one which created an operating shell for MS-DOS as the users were interested in Graphic User Interface (GUI).
So after 29 years of service it is still the one to look about, as on the eve of announcement of its new OS Windows 10, here’s a rundown of how much windows has changed over the last 30 Years, reports Business Insider.
Windows 1.0: 1985
The first one in the line can be termed as the original ancestor which today’s OS have sprout from, and it was just a layer on top of MS-DOS. Windows 1.0 was a character based program and was very less in use.
#Windows 2.0: 1987
The second one should obviously screen some improvement, so making it to be the first Windows OS to support MS-Word and MS-Excel. The operating homepage was disputed over legally by Apple feeling that bits were stashed in from Macintosh, at the end Apple failed to win the case.
