Free Upgrade For Existing Users But New Users Have To Pay: Windows 10
BANGALORE: Microsoft had already promised its existing customers of a free upgrade to their latest OS, Windows 10. The Windows 10 preview version has gained lots of thumbs and it will be released at the end of July, on July 29th, reports NDTV.
This means the users who are running their PCs or laptops with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 will receive an upgrade without any hidden charges. The upgrade goes according to the current version of the OS. If the user is running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 will receive the upgrade to Windows 10 Home.
On the other hand, if the user is running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 Pro, or Windows 8.1 Pro will get upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. All this upgrades cost nothing for the existing users. The option for current users to reserve their free copy of Windows 10 Home or Pro is available on their taskbar since earlier this week.
