Apple vs Samsung: One of the most frequently known battles of patent right violations is that of Apple and Samsung. This is an ever ongoing case, where when one patent rights violation is settled another one springs up again. Well in these battles Apple has won more times than Samsung.

Apple sued Samsung for $2 billion in copyright violation but was rewarded only $290 million from Samsung sales. Time and again the two technology giants have dragged each other to court and this is unlikely to stop anytime soon.

ViaSat’s Victory: The Satellite builder Space Systems/Loral was fined $100 million from the original amount of $283 million which was to be paid to ViaSat Inc. for infringing on a patent and also violating a contract from a former customer. SSL went ahead and built a broadband satellite for a rival company of ViaSat. SSL had to pay $40 million up front and the other $60 million in installments over a period of 2.5 years.
