One of his most famous songs “Every Breath You Take” was sampled by Puff Daddy also known as P.Diddy as a tribute to his friend and legend Notorious B.I.G, under the name “I’ll Be Missing You”.
The song “Every Breath You Take” has earned Sting over $40 million because of his 100 percent publishing rights, and because Diddy didn’t bother to take permission to sample the song, has freely given Sting 100 percent earning in publishing royalties. It is reported that Sting earns $2000 a day from Diddy’s song.
