HP & Autonomy, 2011
A deal $10.3 billion was signed between the duo along with 25.50 pounds-per-share cash offer. As the monetary value of the latter is high priced, thus analysts claim that cracking this deal was not easy of the part of HP. An analyst at Stamford, Connecticut-based Gartner Inc, Michael Gartenberg, commented, “The hardware business has become a difficult business. In many ways it’s a commodity-driven business. This is a major strategic shift for HP.”
Microsoft & Skype, 2011
The 8.5billion deal was completely paid cash. That made greater news than the deal the tech giants signed. This was a second time acquisition for Skype E-bay had done the same way back in 2003. This was the largest deal entered by Microsoft after it purchased aQuantive with 6billion.
