In comparison with other countries, 5G spectrum auction has been delayed in India. The main reason for this is its cost over the telecom industry. The rollouts of 5G would be expensive, but through analytics and machine learning the cost of 5G could be kept under check. Besides, following the measures such as troubleshooting 5G network performance, scheduling beamforming (a traffic signaling system) in massive MIMO networks, and better positioning of indoor base stations, could make 5G cost-effective. Furthermore, the government of India has also stated that it is looking for other options to bring down the pricing of the spectrum, as requested by the telecom companies at IMC.
