Frequency Bandwidth
In contrast to 4G, which works on existing frequency bandwidth below, which is 6GHz, but, 5G requires 300GHz frequency bandwidth to operate. 5G uses a shorter wavelength, which would require much smaller antennas than the existing ones. This network's super high frequencies can work only with clear, direct line-of-sight between the device receiving the signal and its antenna. To overcome this issue, strong land-based fiber systems could be established similar to the one used by the 4G network.
