BANGALORE: Four years ago, most of us recharged our phones for 20 and got 300 messages free. Today, as a result the Telecommunications wing of the Government has made a huge sum of money on text messages and phone calls. But now people have shifted to instant free messaging services, because of its wide range of features.

With the rise of such services, why is it that most us boast of its features and not just call everybody using these messaging apps? Well then here are a few hurdles that stop us from doing that, reports NDTV.

VoIP Apps Are Treated As Secondary Citizens On Mobile OS

Mobiles with operating software's such as iOS and Android treat VoIP apps like secondary citizens because when you're on a VoIP call you are forced to make a decision, to either accept or reject' the call. So, if you are trying to make calls over the internet, be prepared for an interruptive experience.

3G/ Wi-Fi A ?Must? To Use VoIP

Using a 2G network to make a voice call would seem hilarious and meaningless. For example, in Mumbai even text based content like tweets fails to work on a 2G network. However, it becomes obvious of the fact that one needs to check their connectivity, for it works only with a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
