At any critical scenario or disaster or crisis, people turn towards Facebook to get updated with their loved ones.  In these moments communication is most important, both for people in the affected areas and for their friends and families who are anxious for each other’s safety. During a major disaster, Safety Check will help you to let friends and family know you’re safe. Check on others in the affected area.

Only your friends and family can see your safety status and the comments you share. When the tool is activated after a natural disaster and if you’re in the affected area, you’ll receive a Facebook notification asking if you’re safe. Facebook will determine your location by looking at the city you have listed in your profile, your last location if you’ve opted in to the nearby Friends product, and the city where you are using the internet. If you’re safe, you can select “I’m Safe” and a notification and News Feed story will be generated with your update. Your friends can also mark you as safe.

1) Share a Tweet through Direct Messages:

Every day, people use Twitter to share what’s interesting and now there’s a new way to share Tweets privately using Direct Messages.

You can do this either from iOS or Android mobile apps,  what yoo need to do is long press the tweet in your timeline and choose “Share via Direct Message.” On twitter.com and Tweet Deck, tap the “More” icon and select “Share via Direct Message.” The person you share a Tweet with will get a push notification, and the tweet will display directly in the conversation.
