Innovation shocks the auto industry

The tech giant shocked the auto industry with its announcement of a self-driven vehicle which it was working on. Google is not interested in making cars, but wants to spread its futuristic technology which could be adopted by automakers.

Since most prototypes are tested on UK streets, it will allow driverless cars on public roads in 2015. The pods have been tested to more than 7, 00,000 miles of open road in California. The Pod is primarily built to accommodate 2 passengers, which will be limited to travel not more than 25mph, which is equal to 40km/h in order to ensure safety.

In July 2014, the Government of UK announced that driverless cars will be allowed on public roads from January 2015. Later, Government officials have taken up steps to regulate the rules and provide appropriate guidelines.

This will permit driverless vehicles to comply with rules of safety and traffic laws, all of which would apply to England, Scotland and Wales.

One key Feature of the Pod is its emission of radio signals allow them to “talk” to another Pod and alert drivers to potential accidents or immediate causes.
