# Start-Up Valuation Bubble Springs Some Leaks

Every now and then we see that a start-up that is struggling with its financials gets a huge valuation from the investors. For instance, Pinterest, the online bulletin board, got a $5 billion valuation and another Digital payments company, Square, is priced at $6 billion.

A venture capitalist with Menlo Ventures, Venky Ganesan said, "There will be some really high-profile blow ups.” The timing when the tech industry will go down is a desired parlor game at the Silicon Valley. Regardless of all the grim predictions over the past few years, the value of the startups keeps increasing.
