Google I/O 2016: The 8 Key Announcements to Watch Out For

6. Android Wear

A big update to Android Wear, Version 2.0, has a revamped user experience and standalone apps which can run right on the watch, irrespective of where your phone is. Users could also now mix and match watch faces on any Android Wear ready smartwatch. An improved keyboard is also available on the Android Wear smartwatch. Responding to messages has become easier: Smart Reply and handwriting recognition are there.

Rather than relying on a connected smartphone, Google is potentially making a smartwatch a lot more powerful and intact.

7. Instant Apps

Finally showing off the fruits of their hard labor, Google at I/O released Android Instant Apps—allows you to run any app on one tap, no installation required.

People are free to use any app anytime as if it was locally installed. An App is broke into modules; little bits of the app are loaded at a time. Though developers had to opt into this feature, but it seems like it would drastically alter the way we use apps.
