9 Mobile Numbers On A Single SIM! Blackberry's New Solution Coming To India


BANGALORE: Blackberry is butting the technological innovations for a high time, as the handset maker is bringing in virtual SIM that has in it something unique. Blackberry’s virtual SIM with which you can access up to 9 numbers from a single SIM and the company is working in that direction to launch virtual SIM solution by year-end, reports IBN Live.

 The Canadian handset giant is in discussions with the regulatory authorities and telecom operators in the country. Last year it has acquired virtual identity solutions provider, Movirtu to boost its service for enterprise customers.

The virtual SIM technology allows the user to access his office, home and personal numbers from a single SIM and the best feature is that the billing will be different for voice calls, data and messaging usage on each number.

The Indian Managing Director of Blackberry Sunil Lalvani has declined to name out the partners who will be co-aligning for the project in India.

The virtual SIM solution is released in some parts of Africa and the company is in plans to market it in Europe and other Asia Pacific countries.

The company hardware sales are down amidst heavy competition from Apple and Samsung, so Blackberry is trying to break in the technological stream.

Blackberry has dropped down in market share from 8.1 per cent in October-December 2011 to 0.4 per cent by the last quarter of 2014.

Still it has its handset business to bank which progresses good with business oriented phones and its latest new device 'Leap' which will be available by June.
