Zomato's food delivery service has been in talks since long but didn’t know how the app would accommodate the new service. It turns out the company has released a standalone application specifically for ordering food and the best part is that you won't require to make a single call to place the order, which will make this a new kind of App service and the user can place the order from within the app.
This will be the first separate product introduced by Zomato. The logo of the new App contains Zomato's urbanspoon on a delivery scooter. For now the number of restaurants compatible with the new delivery system is only around 2000 but this will soon grow manifold considering the app's reach and popularity. Users can jump from the older 'Zomato' app to the new 'Zomato Order' instantly.
The application is available on both Android and iOS. Zomato believes that having two separate apps allows them to build lightweight apps that get straight to solving the problems you face. Actions that are core to the app experience can be given priority of position and we aren't forced into making real estate compromises. By the looks, the app has a smooth.
Users can track the delivery status from within the application. In the options panel there is a new 'payments' tab which is promised to come soon. Zomato is also introducing its own wallet with payment modes like Paytm and Google Wallet.
