Zebi AI Chain, an initiative from Zebi to aid the Hospitality Industry
The blockchain startup Zebi Data India Pvt. Ltd.launches Zebi AI Chain, blockchain based AI solution to aid the Hospitality Industry in India. It aims to protect guest data and help law enforcement officials in proactive identification and to control the criminal activities. Currently, Zebi AI Chain Solution is deployed at more than 200 hotels and expects to deploy across all hotels in India as online hotel bookings is expected to hit $2.3 billion by 2020.
Babu Munagala, Founder & CEO of Zebi, says, “AI and modern technologies created extraordinary power of utilizing people sensitive data collected by Governments or Enterprises that could potentially be misused. Zebi AI Chain provides the much needed controlling function with complete transparency through Smart Contracts. So the Individual can trust enterprises and governments that reliable privacy and security measures are implemented.”
Managed by Oxford, MIT, Stanford and IIT veterans, Zebi Data India is a young, innovative organization which specializes in providing block-chain based support to governments and enterprises. To reduce the number of data hacks, data leaks, data tampering, and identity thefts, Zebi Chain obtains consent from individuals before using the data. Silicon Valley based veterans have trained the development teams and there are over 15 IIT graduates now.
Kalyan Muppaneni, Board Member, Zebi, says, “When visitors enter the hotel, if they already have a Zebi ID, they can check in within seconds. If not, they can provide a picture and photo id, and create a Zebi ID, which is stored on Zebi Blockchain. The guests no longer have to leave printed photo copies of their id cards or mobile number with the hotel because their Zebi IDs are on the Block-chain. This mitigates the risk of the guest data being misused by hotel or other enterprises.”
As per Indian laws, personal identification data of hotel guests must be provided to police every day and this process is usually done manually. Thus, sensitive data on the papers can be misused one way or other and the processing time is also on the higher side. Zebi AI Chain Solution provides both security and privacy to the data collected and these data is stored in the block-chain. Data can be controlled only by the individual and the consent is taken whenever data is used.
Nagesh Kumar Ventaka, Asst. Front Office Manager, The Park, Vizag, states, “The communication with the police department has been hassle free after implementing the application provided by Zebi. Previously, the police used to visit us on a regular basis for enquiring about the status of tourists, now it is not necessary!”
