WWDC 2015: Expected Things From Apple
BENGALURU: Apple world wide developer conference (WWDC) will start from June 8 and will continue till June 12. Since last year’s WWDC, Apple has not made much announcements regarding product updates as well as launching new variants of the products. WWDC 15 may see a lot of announcements from the company and let us look at 4 expected things, which Apple may announce at WWDC.
New Operating System
Apple launched iOS 8 last year and since that time, the product has received few updates. At this WWDC, Apple may launch iOS 9 along with a new version of OS X. The company unveiled Apple watch and several features can be incorporated into the new iOS 9, like force touch. Similarly, several enhancements may also come with the new version of OS X, related to bug fixes and security updates.
New Multimedia Services
Apple iTunes was not performing well in the market, so in order to compensate, the company may unveil a new music service by the name of “Beats”. The application will be paid and not free, but, will be integrated into both of Apple’s OS – iOS and OS X. The company is in talks with several other multimedia content providers such as – CBS and many more starting its own online streaming service later this year. Along with new online multimedia streaming service, the company is also expected to unveil a new variant of much-awaited Apple TV at WWDC 2015.
Platform For Internet Of Things
At Google I/O 2015, the Internet giant unveiled “Brillo”, an interface for interacting with several products like light bulbs, refrigerators, and many more. In a similar fashion, Apple may launch its own platform for interacting with IoT products. The company has termed its IoT kit as “HomeKit” that can control devices like refrigerators, air conditioners and many more.
Mobile Payment Platform
Apple is rumored to make new announcements related to its payment platform, Apple Pay. Google announced new news related to its own Google Pay, which will support security features like finger print support to authorize user. Similarly, Apple may also unveil new offers related to Apple Pay at WWDC, including customer perk program, wherein, a customer may get some discount for paying with Apple Pay.
