WhatsApp's Hidden Tool Discloses Who Your Best Friends Are


BANGALORE: WhatsApp has discreetly brought in a new feature that enables users to check on their data usage with unbelievable results.

The purpose of ‘storage usage’ is kept with the confines of the application which now also offers users with an efficient leader board. This ranks the most important contacts and groups as per the number of texts sent and received as well as takes up the initiative in disclosing who your closest friends are.  To discover your leader board simply go to ‘settings ‘on the apps central toolbar, reports TOI.

After which, click ‘storage usage ‘ at the very bottom, this will then show you how many messages have been sent and received along with the series in number for each conversation from the highest to the least. Bigger group chats are bound to be more dominant in ranking however it will also reveal the individual contacts that are often correspondent too.

 As per The Telegraph's Rhiannon Williams, the app was silently released as a part of the new WhatsApp update 2.12.3 in the month of June this year. This option on selecting the ‘size’ tab also informs the users of the conversations that take up the most amount of space on the phone.

 

Furthermore, if one chooses to remove the string of messages that are taking up large amount of memory, it will require the user to select ‘refresh’ option situation at the top right before the freed up space is alerted.

However the tool was only released for iPhone users. Android users are only limited to view the overall messages sent and certain other information pertaining to data utilization.
