The most recent feature added to the YouTube android application is making videos offline. What this feature does is that it creates a copy locally. However, the video is not stored outside the Youtube application.

The Offline feature simply saves the videos  making it accessible from within the Youtube Android application. Here,  not all videos can be made offline.

# Youtube Downloader

The policy made by Google or YouTube does not allow the Youtube videos to be downloaded officially. Sometime back,   there was an application by the name of YouTube Downloader available on Android Play Store but Google took it down because it violated the policies.

However, YouTube Downloader can be downloaded from unofficial sources now and to do that, the unknown source option should be checked.
