Tesla Motors ranges of electric self-driving cars have taken electric and automated car technology to unparalleled heights. Advance bookings for the cars have soared above the 350,000 mark, much higher than the estimated 70-80000 units the company was initially supposed to manufacture.  The Model S, for example garnered the highest safety rating in America, has Autopilot with Autosteer and Summon facilities, and is available in an electric all-wheel drive. It can also go from Zero to 60 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds, and can run up to 270 miles in one charge.
