Tejas Networks & Vodafone Idea Collaborate to Strengthen Telecom Network
The major Indian telecom operator Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) and Tejas Networks have joined hands to improve its backhaul network by signing an agreement for the next three years. The deal allows Tejas Networks to implement its advanced packet and optical transmission solutions-TJ1400 and TJ1600-to upgrade several telecom regions that were part of the deal signed to be a part of VIL's network for its infrastructural development and enhancement for seamless growth across India.
As Vodafone Idea accelerates its 4G and 5G rollouts across India, upgrading its backhaul network has become essential to handle increasing data traffic and bandwidth demands. Highlighting the contract, Mr. Jagbir Singh, CTO of Vodafone Idea, stated, “Tejas Networks’ PTN and OTN solutions will be instrumental in creating a scalable, robust, and future-ready network to deliver an exceptional service experience to our customers.”
Tejas Networks’ advanced technology will enable VIL to scale up its operations efficiently, aligning with the company’s vision of building VIL 2.0. This deal underscores Tejas Networks’ commitment to supporting India’s telecom evolution with innovative and high-performance solutions.
CEO and Managing Director of Tejas Networks stated, “We are proud to be selected as a partner of Vodafone Idea as they embark on an exciting journey to expand and create a nationwide 4G and 5G network in India. We believe that this is a reflection of our ability to design highly flexible and well-differentiated products that consistently align with the evolving needs of top-tier communication service providers such as VIL while drastically lowering the cost and energy per bit.”
