The Power of Information:

In today’s world one’s capability to process information itself is a source of power. According to Claude Shannon, the father of information theory, information is the absence of ambiguity and therefore has always had important strategic significance.  However there never has been the potential to use information as a weapon.

Today’s Google and Facebook have proved it to the world by crunching hundreds of thousands of servers into an Exabyte. The sole objective is to turn information itself into a hard asset. This is a purposeful investment, which is capable of multiplying the impact of other such capabilities.

“Information is Power,” an old saying, which was used as a metaphor took a literal shape today. Here information is the only power now, which can modify itself into weapon or a shield. It is needless to show the evidence of information crept into life.
