Like movie makers, TV stations have long relied on helicopters to get the most dramatic footage. And they, too, are eager to lower the price of placing eyes in the sky. Some journalists experimenting with small camera-equipped drones have already run afoul of FAA’s ban on commercial usage and have received cease-and-desist orders. One can expect challenges from celebrities who are sick of the paparazzi culture and others who are not so eager for unwanted media attention. But, gatherers won’t be shy.
