Sineng Electric Partners with Infineon Technologies to Enhance High-Power PCS Technology
Sineng Electric has announced a strategic collaboration with semiconductor giant Infineon Technologies, aimed at advancing Sineng’s high-power Power Conversion System (PCS) technology. Under this collaboration, Infineon will supply its cutting-edge TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT7 devices to Sineng, facilitating the enhancement of its PCS technology.
Sineng’s 2MW PCS incorporates Infineon’s 1200V EconoDUAL™ 3 power module, allowing for a remarkable increase in power output from 1.725MW to 2MW without altering the unit’s dimensions. This enhancement, achieved through higher energy density and improved reliability, has garnered widespread acceptance globally, reinforcing the leading positions of both companies in the Photovoltaic (PV) plus Energy Storage System (ESS) field.
The EconoDUAL™ 3 medium-power IGBT module package, known for its popularity in the industry, has been further optimized by integrating the latest-generation TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT7 chip technology. This innovation results in higher power density and up to 30% higher output current within the same size package.
By leveraging these high-power density components, Sineng’s PCS series achieves remarkable efficiency, with conversion rates reaching up to 99%. This enables rapid power dispatch under varying voltage conditions, supports off-grid operations, and facilitates 'black start' scenarios, showcasing exceptional grid adaptability.
Jiang Zhengmao, Vice President of Sineng Electric, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Sineng Electric and Infineon have a long-standing partnership, spanning from PV to energy storage solutions. As a leading provider of PV+ESS solutions globally, Sineng remains committed to expanding its presence in the energy storage sector, and this collaboration with Infineon accelerates our efforts in global market development”.
This collaboration underscores the commitment of both Sineng Electric and Infineon Technologies to driving innovation in the energy storage sector, paving the way for more efficient and reliable power solutions to meet the evolving needs of the global market.
