Revealed: 9 Best Tech Companies For Women In 2014
BANGALORE: A lot of women are emerging in the corporate world today. Women in tech have build up a new scenario, from Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook to Vanitha Narayanan, Managing Director at IBM India; they are excelling in the biggest tech companies.
Even after getting recognized at esteemed position at a company women are not satisfied with their employers and it's not just an assumption it's a fact. According to a survey done on women who are working in the biggest names in tech, Scott Dobroski, a Glassdoor Community Expert found that, Not only is there a difference in pay between men and women in tech, but we also see a gender gap when it comes to employee satisfaction among tech employees,reports Business Insider.
Although, the survey revealed that women are less happy than men at 14 of the 25 tech companies, here is the list of top 9 tech companies that are still women's favorite employer as compiled by Business Insider.
1. IBM
Women's satisfaction rating: 3.2 (1,325 women reporting)
Men's satisfaction rating: 3.2 (4,852 men reporting)
The International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is an American multinational technology and consulting corporation. It seems both men and women are equally happy at IBM. IBM has always been a trailblazer in terms of employment; also women are heavily represented in the workforce, as more than 50 percent of the employees are women including the leadership positions in the company.
IBM is one of few private companies that offer three-month paid maternity leave. Women are also given the option of taking one to two years of leave of absence from work and return to their former position.
