OxygenOS 15 Unleashed, Faster Performance & Cutting Edge AI Tools

OnePlus has finally launched the OxygenOS 15 version of its proprietary custom Android operating system. It is expected to bring a more brisk and efficient user experience along with new features and an austere, minimalist look and feel.

OxygenOS 15 brings a range of new features designed to make OnePlus devices faster, smarter, and more secure, according to the company. The Parallel Processing feature allows seamless switching between up to 20 apps without lag, and the system now uses 20 percent less storage than OxygenOS 14, freeing up space for more photos and apps.

AI features take centre stage, with tools like AI Detail Boost and AI Unblur, which improve image clarity and resolution at the tap of a button, while AI Reflection Eraser removes unwanted reflections in photos. Intelligent Search helps users find files or settings through conversational responses, and Circle to Search enables object identification by simply circling items in photos or videos, linking users to Google search results. For travellers, the new Pass Scan feature scans boarding passes directly from the camera.

Other AI-powered tools include AI Notes, which transcribes voice notes and organises them with ease, and AI Reply, which suggests context-based responses in messaging apps, saving time in chats.

The integration of Google’s Gemini Live in OxygenOS 15 further improves the user experience, offering real-time responses in over 40 languages. This assistant enables users to ask questions, brainstorm ideas, or simplify tasks just by speaking.

OxygenOS 15 includes plenty of design improvements. Some of these are a new boot animation, updated icons, and enhanced lock screen customization options to be used for further personalization. Additionally, OnePlus has strengthened security with features like Remote Lock and Offline Lock, which helps in the prevention of thefts as it automatically locks the devices and makes biometric verification necessary for any critical action.

The firm said the first open beta version of OxygenOS 15 will be available starting from October 30, with the OnePlus 12 as its first beneficiary.
