Om Prakash: Art to Evoke Technology

Art Balancing Nature and Technology

For a very long time, ‘art’ had a vested responsibility of re-creating a world of unseen, yet surreal things that bridged nature with the human race. In the recent decades, technology, a revolutionary agent of change, has seized the baton with conviction. Technology, nature, and art has for long been ‘the balancing tool.’ In ‘Mystery of Trees’—one of the artist’s many masterpieces—Anuradha says that Om Prakash’s ‘inscribed geometries’ favor a modern perspective to the scenic view of early morning light filtering through the tall trunks of a forest.

In the words of Patricia Watts, Consulting Curator, Marin Community Foundation, “Om Prakash has been creating complex, abstract paintings drawn from both the timeless visual culture of Indian tantric imagery and developments in modern art. His oeuvre includes hundreds of luminous artworks focused on the relationship of mind, nature, spirit, and the inner universe.”

The monumental works of Om Prakash are on display at the Foundation’s offices in Novato, CA. Marine Community, which is well known for its inherent bonds to the shorelines and woods, is all prepped up to channelize the ethereal beauty of nature through Om Prakash’s art spectacle. This show will further enthuse the Silicon Valley culture of presenting unique approaches to solving the complex problems of the world and will make an ideal backdrop for its members and innovators to be inspired for future creations.

A public reception will be held on Wednesday, September 21st from 4:30pm-6:30pm. The works will be on display from September 21, 2016 to January 13, 2017, after which the exhibit is open to travel to other institutions.
