Now! Ford Cars to Get Apple Siri Eyes
BANGALORE: Ford recently launched its latest software update for over 5 million SYNC-equipped vehicles going all the way back to 2011 model year, making it more convenient for Apple iPhone users with Siri Eyes-Free capability, reports India Today.
Sherif Marakby, director of Ford Electronics and Electrical Systems Engineering said, "SYNC, Ford's entertainment and communications system, was designed to be flexible and updatable, just like other mobile technologies, so our customers are able to get the most out of their smartphone while behind the wheel."
Siri Eyes-Free permits drivers to turn on Siri with a long press of the voice recognition button present on the steering wheel which is similar to activating Siri on an iPhone.
Drivers with just their voice can ask Siri to perform the following requests this includes, making calls to contacts stored on the address book, searching for contact details of restaurants or other place of interest, setting alarm, weather, choosing music , Audibly sending and receiving messages and navigation.
Vehicles equipped with second generation of SYNC can access the new software update that is known as MyFord Touch in North America, which ranges from model years 2011 to 2016.
