Mobile Internet To Boost IP Traffic Growth In India By Fourfolds: Report
BANGALORE: As per the latest findings of Cisco Visual Networking Index forecast, the Internet Protocol (IP) traffic in India will annually receive a considerable growth between 2014 and 2019.
Similarly the pattern is expected to follow for IP traffic on a global scale as well which is anticipated to reach 2 zettabytes by the next 4 years. Consequently the change will bring a growth of web users, enhanced machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, superior broadband speeds so on and so forth, reports Mobiletor.
Cisco who has summed up many more variable has concluded that the global IP traffic’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) will have a 23 pct within 2014 and 2019. The previous year generated a 59.9 exabytes of IP traffic for each month, wherein expected to reach up to 168 exabytes during the same months. Summing up the total traffic during the ‘Internet years’ of 1984 to 2013, is estimated to be identical to the figure in 2019.
Furthermore, another added force will feature superior advanced video services such as ultra HD, 360 and spherical wherein an 80pct of all IP traffic in 2019 is likely to come from IP video. The Internet of Things is highly anticipated to be the emerging wave to hit technology after the coming of smartphones devices. From connected home appliances to Smart TVs to wearable gadgets, it will have a massive impact on the IP traffic by year 2019.
If the last forecast is met, then 3 years is suggested to be sufficient to obtain the following zettabyte mark, thereby receiving 2 zettabytes of IP traffic per year commencing from 2019. There is also a high probability that India will take the place as the fourth highest IP traffic growth rate globally with a 33 percent CAGR during the calculated period.
