"Manav" India First Humanoid Robot From The Hands Of A-SET
BANGALORE: The craze for humanoid robotics has been going on for ages, we’ve seen how the obsession had played out on screen in movies like terminator, Robocop or even iron man. Just when you think the enthusiasm had died down or had been shifted, someone appears along the way with a futuristic innovation to proves us wrong, reports GIZMODD India
The well-known dialog from terminator “I’ll be back” only gets more real when boys and their toys transit to men and their machine as they appear from a murky foyer.
It is now evident that the youth have succumbed to its influence, to generate machines equal to man, one of whom has emerged from India by the name “Manav” which means ‘Man’ in Sanskrit.
The Humanoid Robot sets as the perfect epitome for a human structure. Standing two feet tall with 21 inbuilt sensors, paired headphones as ears and (paired) camera for eye sockets, certainly gives an impression of a human child.
It gives out a reality vibe as Manav weighing at 2kg (4.41 pounds) has an in-built vision and sound processing ability that permits its lifelike abilities to talk, play football, exercise and dancing like a human.
Manav the product of New Delhi's A-SET Training & Research Institutes made its debut at the Techfest 2014-15 at IIT Bombay (IIT-B) held recently. It is India’s first 3D (three-dimensional) printed humanoid robot.
This automaton comparatively is the most economically priced robot between 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakh in the electronic market. It can also be customized according to the preference of its to-be owners.
