JLR, Tata Communications Expand Connected Car Partnership
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Communications have expanded their collaboration to advance connected car technologies, as announced in a joint statement on Tuesday. Under the enhanced partnership, Tata Communications will provide its MOVE platform to bolster JLR’s connected vehicle ecosystem, enhancing the driving experience for customers globally.
This collaboration aims to equip JLR’s next-generation software-defined vehicles with continuous connectivity, ensuring access to intelligent services even in remote areas across 120 countries. The new agreement is an extension of the existing partnership, focused on future-proofing JLR’s digital transformation.
By leveraging the MOVE platform, JLR’s upcoming medium-sized SUVs built on the electric modular architecture (EMA) will enjoy seamless transitions between mobile networks and operators. This will ensure uninterrupted access to personalized connected services such as media streaming. The platform will also enable secure and efficient data exchange between JLR and its customers' vehicles, facilitating Software Over-the-air (SOTA) updates and enhancing the deployment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Mark Brogden, JLR’s Director of Digital Product Platform Off-Board, commented, "The partnership with Tata Communications is a significant step in our journey to deliver software-defined vehicles with highly secure, cost-effective data connectivity across 120 countries".
