Interface Of Apple's iOS: Past To Present
iOS 1.X
The first touch centric mobile OS wasn’t given any official name at first just was said that the first gen iPhone is running on a version of Apple’s desktop operating system. Before it was named as the well known iOS which was on June 7, 2010, the operating system was named as iPhone OS with the release of iPhone software development kit which was on March 6, 2008. There were 9 versions of iOS 1.X which were released over a stretch of 1 year starting from June 29th 2007 to July 15th 2008. The latter versions of the OS were to fix bugs and more others.
iOS 2.X
The next OS can be marked for the launch of the Apple Store, iOS 2.X was made available on July11, 2008 along with the release of iPhone 3G. There were 6 versions of the OS that started on July 11th 2008 to January 27th 2009. The latter versions of the OS have seen significant changes like the general bug fixes, OS enhancements, Safari and iTunes 8.1.
iOS 3.X
Came to be available on June 17, 2009 followed by the release of iPhone 3GS. This new OS upgrade seen little added features like copy, paste and MMS. The final release of this OS’s version is 3.1.3, after which it was stopped for iPhones and iPods. The latter version 3.2 came in with the release of iPad for the first time and this is the time when the operating system was first referred as ‘iOS’. There were six versions of iOS 3.X for iPhones and iPods, what continued after this are for iPad like 3.2, 3.2.1 and 3.2.2.
