India's AI ecosystem is poised for a global leap, Union Minister of Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw has stated. Government assistance will allow startups from image editing, deep-tech, earth observation to conversational AI to access the global market, build global collaborations and establish scalable impactful solutions, the minister further added.

Taking a significant step towards taking India's AI proficiency to the world, the IndiaAI Mission under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has recently announced the selection of 10 startups for the 'IndiaAI Startups Global Initiative', an overseas acceleration program in collaboration with Station F, Paris and HEC Paris.

"Narendra Modi's participation at the Prime Minister level at the AI Action Summit in February 2024 was not only an indication of top-level political commitment but also showed that India is looking to become a builder of global AI norms and innovation diplomacy", said the Union Minister.

"India's AI ecosystem is poised to make a global breakthrough. By programmes like this, we are empowering our most promising startups to access global markets, establish international partnerships, and develop scalable, high-impact solutions. This cooperation of IndiaAI Mission with Station F and HEC Paris marks a new era in India's innovation diplomacy", said Mr Vaishnaw.

As per Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary MeitY and CEO IndiaAI Mission, The 'IndiaAI Startups Global Initiative' is a more than an acceleration program.

"It is a bridge connecting India's talent to the world's innovation capitals. These 10 startups are the best examples of the depth, diversity, and global appeal of Indian AI. We are honored to give their next jump as global AI leaders", he said.

These 10 startups were selected through an intensive multi-round selection process and will be India's vibrant AI innovation ecosystem representatives at Station F - the world's biggest startup campus for a four-month program aimed at enabling their cross-border scale-up, access to markets and collaboration.

The program comprises a one-month online preparation phase followed by a three-month residency in Paris, France. This program is an extension of the IndiaAI Mission's overarching vision to drive India towards AI leadership, which is responsible, scalable, and inclusive.
