Indian App Developers Find New Apple Tech a Boon

It all started with a dream to create something for the world and with innovative Apple technologies like Swift and ARkit (AR) at their disposal, several app developers from India have created a niche space for themselves.

Take the case of Rama Krishna, Founder and CEO of Hyderabad-based Fluid Touch that has developed productivity apps like Daily Notes, Tasks and Noteshelf two for iPhones, iPads and even Apple Watch.

"Right now, we have four million users globally. Japan is a very big market for us and India is slowly picking up. We are looking forward to the new Apple development framework SwiftUI that would help us make powerful user interfaces," Krishna told IANS on the sidelines of Apple's annual developers' conference 'WWDC 2019'.

To help app developers create top-of-the-line apps, Apple has unveiled SwiftUI which is a revolutionary development framework that makes building powerful user interfaces easier than ever before.

ARKit 3, RealityKit and the Reality Composer are other advanced tools designed by Apple to make it even easier for developers to create compelling AR experiences for consumer and business apps.

"The new development technologies make app development faster, easier and more fun for developers, and represent the future of app creation across all Apple platforms," Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi said.

SwiftUI provides an extremely powerful and intuitive new user interface framework for building sophisticated app UIs.

Using simple, easy-to-understand declarative code, developers can create stunning, full-featured user interfaces complete with smooth animations.

Software Systems Co-founder Hemant Kumar who has created Enpass Password Manager app is extremely positive with the announcement of SwiftUI.

"We have around 2.5 million downloads across the App Store and Google Play Store. The idea behind Enpass Password Manager is to increase the security awareness among people and motivate them to start using a digital locker," Kumar told IANS

"We create super strong passwords and all your data gets protected with a single password. The app is tightly integrated with every platform, whether it's iOS, Mac, Windows, Linux or Android," he added.

SwiftUI saves developers time by providing a huge amount of automatic functionality including interface layout, Dark Mode, Accessibility, right-to-left language support and internationalization.

The newly launched ARKit 3 puts people at the centre of AR.

With Motion Capture, developers can integrate people's movement into their app, and with People Occlusion, AR content will show up naturally in front of or behind people to enable more immersive AR experiences and fun green screen-like applications.

With Reality Composer, anyone can quickly prototype and produce content for AR experiences that are ready to integrate into apps using Xcode or export to AR Quick Look.

Reality Composer lets developers build animations and interactions on iOS and Mac to enrich the 3D content.
